RE: Reports; The format & final presentation

Hi Laura,
We have an update to the business software that should be ready in the next couple of weeks.  The primary focus of the update will be on reporting to provide improved formatting and flexibility.

I think you'll like the improvements smile  We'll send an email to message board members once ready.  The updates will be available to our customers as a FREE download.

Thanks for your patience!

Reports; The format & final presentation

Hi,

I am new to the forum, already have my Start-up kit and just finished doing my first practice home inventory for my home!  I find the software easy to use but am having problems with the final report - specifically how it looks in it's final format.  Does anyone have a sample or practice report that they are willing to share with me so I can see how a complete one should look?

Here's the problems I'm experiencing:
1. When I generate a report such as "Home Inventory By Location", the result is many pages that is, in my opinion, difficult to read and/or reference at a glance.

2.  If an Item or Category nears the end of a page, the data gets split between the end of that page and the beginning of the next.  The data doesn't stay together.

I tried exporting the data to another program such as Excel, but when opened in Excel it looked exactly the same and with the embedded formatting (that I assume carried over from the CHJ software) was very difficult for me to reformat or make changes.

Sorry if this sounds nit-picky but the finished product's appearance is very important to me.

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks! smile
Laura
