No problem.  If you are starting out as a sole proprietor you would just declare your business expenses on a Schedule C.  Turbo Tax Home & Business does a nice job of making it easy.

Hello All-

My wife & I just purchased the start-up kit and are most excited about getting started with the business - even in what appears to be an economy that is getting soft. One question we have is how we properly claim the cost of the start-up kit as a deductible expense on our income taxes. On which form do we claim the expense and what do we use for documentation of the claim for our records? My apologies if this topic has already been addressed in the past. Thanks so much for any help you can provide. We look forward very much to working with everyone in this forum.
