Sorry, I was away so didn't have a chance to reply to your post.  My thought is that you would not tell customers you are inexperienced but simply that you are running a new business special for the first 6 months and offer them a nice discount. 

If you already met with the potential customer please let us know how it went.

I purchased my start up kit last June but was working a full time job while setting up my home inventory business part time. I've retired and now spending more time on the Home Inventory Business...just about ready to get it off the ground. I received an email last week from someone searching my area for a Home Inventory Specialist - this came through the NAHIP. This came at a great time...just getting ready to begin marketing and going live but I have a few questions I'm hoping I can get help with before my meeting next Tuesday.

The thing is, I have not practiced that much, just barely completed my own home inventory and I feel lacking in this area. I did many hours of researching the old message board, writing down and studying all important information from the original owners. One of questions is should I let this potential client know that I am new at this and offer her a cut rate price right off the bat? I don't want to come off sounding like I don't know what I'm talking about so I was thinking this might be good to begin with (also need the practice).

The other thing is the package and price list - read many posts about this but I'm still not sure which way to set up my pricing. I was thinking about going with the list of services included in the start up kit but adjusting my prices for where my business is located (lower CT).

I have my shirts with logo, my car door magnets, web site of course, bonded/insured, brochures, business cards, business acct - only thing left to do is set up credit card processing, either Square or Intuit. Ready to go but I do want to come off as a Home Inventory Specialist and look good for our Industry, any help will be appreciated. Thanks
