Thanks for the reply Fred. I thought that would be the case. I've been debating the pic resolution since I know that overkill will just eat up space without benefit. I tried to get some input in another posting about camera settings but nobody seems interested.
Hi Darin, The amount of space that the inventory data itself takes up is small. The total size of all data for the client will really depend on your camera settings and the resolution you are using. Just take a look at the file size of one image and multiply by your number of images taken for the inventory. You can use a bit calculator...just search on 'bit calculator' to get help with converting to Megabytes if you like.
In my opinion, you can save space on your camera memory card and hard disk by setting the camera resolution to a lower setting. The higher settings are necessary if you plan to print large images such as 8x10 but this is typically not the case with inventory photos.
I realize that the size can vary depending on how much data we enter with any given inventory, but what is a "ballpark" file size for complete backup of a client project? Thanks!
