I agree with Marshuel. I have used the recorder for assistance with the inventory. When trying to read the serial numbers on electronic equipment, I read the info into the recorder. This save time and is a big help when you're in a tight space.
Also, I used the recorder to record the customer's comments regarding specific articles. It does save time. I don't have to juggle the clip board, pen and sometimes a flashlight.
I have a mini cassett recorder with a lapel microphone. That makes it hands free.

Hi Cam- I just did an inventory Monday and used a digital voice recorder...the entire time. I simply notified the client that I will be talking while I inventory...comes in handy when you are trying to write fast and possibly not read your handwrting, they had no problem..no need to ask permission for that, I would only use as back up and not instead of.. case in point...halfway thru I realized batteries were dead!!! but really just as a backup. when I replayed I could confirm cust did not want $$$ to be done just document (renting items).
HELLO!!! I'M Cam from Anonymous Weapons Home Inventory Soon to be "New Begininiings" I was wondering if it was ok with our clients could we tape record them when they are explaining there valuables? I think it would increase speed and less hand written note taking. What do you think?
