RE: Accessory Equipment

Hi Folks,

I just purchased an item that will prove to be helpful in photographing smaller items such as jewelry and collectables.  Quantaray has an "eBox Portable Photo Studio" that is light weight.  It comes complete with two 50 watt lamps, camera tripod (9" to 17" full height), white nylon sidepanels and top form a light box, blue and/or grey background cloth and carry case.  The light box is 20"x20"x20" when assembled.  Easy assembly using the hook and loop tabs.  The background cloth is reversable (Blue on one side grey on the other).

The carry case becomes the back panel and bottom for the light box.  It also has four pockets on it to carry the tripod and two lamps.  I plan to use the fourth pocket for the extension cord.

I am not a salesman and I don't get anything for sharing this information with you.  I was in the camera shop today saw this item and liked it.  I've set it up to practice before using it on my next job.

I know we all need the jewelry props etc. The cost of those can be sort of high for starting out.  This portable (tabletop) equipment is about 1/4 the cost I was quoted for the jewelry props and I can use it for more than jewelry.  It is also less bulky.

I just thought I'd share my thoughts about this piece of equipment I purchased.

Happy 4th!  Enjoy the fireworks!!

We use that light box too. It makes a big difference when the lighting is really low. Great little tool to invest in!
