I have joined a local BNI group and I am in the process of doing all kinds of networking. This one woman I met asked me if I knew any volunteer firemen since they always have open houses during the month of October. The month of October is Fire Prevention month. I did work with a guy who retired from Kodak two years before me. He was active in his volunteer fire department and continues to be now. He told me that he will make sure my company brochures are displayed during their open house in October. He will also check with other friends of his in other district fire houses to see if they also would like some brochures on hand. I would have never thought of this path but this shows a perfect example of what networking can do.
