Hello Everyone, A site that I have used in the past for a homes value and sq footage information is www.zillow.com . Just type in the address and zip and it will provide their most current home value, # bedrooms and other interesting information....hope this helps...cheers, Chucke
Hmmm... you might call your County Assessor's office and find out specifically how to do it, and how often they update the records. Ours are only updated annually, but the information is available 24/7/365. It's very handy when quoting over the phone as well as prepping for on-site quotes.
My area's must not be updated as offten as your area because I cant get my own house to populate. it doesnt work for my area unles i put in my parcel #. I will check further but it doesnt look for for sc's assessors offices.
You can probably find this information for free in your local area (square footage, sales data, assessed value of home and land, property tax rates, etc.).
On July 27, I posted this on one of the other threads:
Also, the county assessor site can be very helpful.
Check out my county's site: http://www.dcassessor.org/disclaimer.html
Click "I agree"
Under Parcel ID, enter: R2114032914 and then click" Begin Parcel Search"
It will pull up the record for Roger Morrissey, the county assessor.
Click on the parcel number at the left and it will pull up his home's record.
Douglas County, NE lists: ** Land value ** Improvement value ** Sales data (how much bought for, and when) ** Year built (and remodeled, if applicable) ** Photo and general floor plan of home, including style ("Ranch") ** Also lists square footage, including # of rooms, ## of baths and bedrooms ** Lists "add ons" -- such as sprinkler system and chain link fence in Mr. Morrissey's case.
This information can be used to provide a general cost estimate and plan the amount of time required for the inventory (although you should ALWAYS verify the information yourself, especially square footage, because some counties only count "above ground" square footage ... and they don't always have the correct information. (For example, my parents have 1-3/4 bathrooms in their house, and the county only lists 1.)
Hello ya'll I have some information some may find use ful. I read a post the other day concerning how to tell the square footage of a house. That concerned me also so i found a website that not only tells the sq. footage of the house but alot of other important information. though it wont let you do it for free but they have bulk discounts. Maybe we can get some kind of thing going on for this information. this is the web site. http://www.intelius.com/search-name.php?ReportType=1& i tried to do a search of my house and it cost me $14.00... but i didnt do it. It did though have a preview of an example report I viewed. it even had a GPS photo of the location. And it can be very useful information for those that charge by the sq. foot... Also i have some information on where to find the model/serial numbers on ge/whirlpool/maytag model large and small appliances. i have it in a file. i can send if any one want the information. Great thing is that most of the model and serial #'s are easy to get too.
oh yea on that website look under "property and area information". it's really cool! but i dont know the logistics of everything yet but i will be looking into it. If the information is returned quick oh we! I think I'll be usen' it!
All you have to do is type in the address your lookin for and up comes the information. if you pay for it. Just thought you might want to know Cam Jones New Beginnings Inventory & Secuirity www.begininventory.com
