RE: 2015 - Scammer still at it

Thanks for sharing Suzanne.  We will keep exposing them and I'm sure they will get caught eventually.  I get quite a few emails inquiring about these guys and always happy to save people from falling into their trap.

This is a legitimate business that can be very profitable but you have to get your customers. There are many ways to bring in customers but don't trust a company that promises income by them giving you your clients.

I just looked up the website at whois for asahomerecovery.info

The domain was registered 12/13/14

Registrant Name:peter cooper
Registrant Organization:Recovery Coach
Registrant Street: 4940 S Tamiami Trl
Registrant City:sarasota
Registrant State/Province:Florida
Registrant Postal Code:34321
Registrant Country:US
Registrant Phone:+1.7864285821
Registrant Phone Ext:
Registrant Fax:
Registrant Fax Ext:
Registrant Email:email@gmail.com

and I see a familiar company name: Recovery Coach -- which was listed in a post from several years ago I believe. Been reading that the guys or guys behind this have raked in $4 milliion. Ridiculous. I have filed complaints with BBB, Ripoff Report and will do so with IFCC.

You can too! Hey I didn't let them take my money - thanks to Fred and the rest of you and others like you but he stole my time, my hope for steady legit employment and I will have to fight to get my $295 back from the preloaded card I was convinced to buy but thankfully overscratched and couldn't read the numbers as I was about to do so over the phone last night. Gift from above? Perhaps. We can't let this keep happening. Meanwhile once I get over my hopefully productive research and revenge reporting I will check out Fred's legitimate entre' into this field.

File a complaint with the FBI's IFCC (The Federal Bureau of Investigation's Internet Fraud Complaint Center) www.ic3.gov/, the Better Business Bureau of Southeast Florida www.bbbsoutheastflorida.org, The Florida Dept. of Agriculture & Consumer Services www.800helpfla.com/complnt.html, The U.S. Postal Inspection Service, Mail Fraud unit www.usps.com/postalinspectors/fraud/, The Federal Trade Commission www.ftc.gov, etc. I would also contact the Broward County Clerk's Office of Howard C Forman (954) 831-7019; Chief Administrator Iris Siple (954) 831-7173; Administrative Assistant Kathy Mayes (954) 831-7019; Their address is  201 S. E. 6th Street, Room 136, Ft. Lauderdale, FL 33301.

Thanks for the info. I almost gave this guy, goes by Thomas, $295 yesterday after seeing a Santa Barbara craigslist ad and speaking to him at length. Offers ipad and camera plus training but wants payment via Vanilla Preload or netSpend Reload cards. Drove all over town to find one - finally did with his help locating a specific  store. Went to scratch off the code and read it to him but scratched too deep and could not read all the numbers. It will take 10+ days to recover my money according to the card company. But the manager at the store told me that these cards are usually flags for scammers and maybe my accidental scraping off the numbers was a sign from God. It did give me a day to research and voila - he's posting his ads across the country. Guess he grabs a bunch of cash and then gets another phone and web and starts over. Isn't there anyone out there to investigate and prosecute these guys?

He told me not only would I get the materials, but that they provide clients they get directly from insurance companies; that they had 11000 inspections yesterday alone; that n Santa Barbara they need 100 inspectors the demand is so high; that I'd have work everyday if I wanted; that I could start as early as this Thursday; that I would most often be paid in cash and that I would keep 60% of the profits, and gave them only 40% (that's $90 per hour for me, $60 for them - minimum 3 hours per assignment.

Rushed me to get payment to him by 5 pm EST (whoosh, lucky I didn't). Also found it curious he was only one I talked to, only one answering the phone - and we talked several times. That he was "staying late" so I could reach him as late as 7:30. Received an email today requesting payment by 4 p.m. so they could ship my materials to be received by tomorrow.

I kept asking about the prepaid card and why couldn't he just take a credit card. He claimed it was for my safety. Right! Cuz then I couldn't do a chargeback.

I read through your prior fraud posts and t sounds like the same guy others have called -- Thomas McIntyre aka Tim Matthews out of Florida and going by other company names such as Thomas Business Consulting and Gateway Home Inventory.

Anyway I am glad I found your board Fred and hope we can keep people from falling for this. Such a shame - I had really gotten my hopes up.

Just heard that what appears to be the same person is at it again.  Using Craig's list to advertise and directing to this website:

Stay far away from this individual....its the same scam as before with promises of clients and after you send them an initial payment you'll never hear from them again.
