Hello Everyone. Thought I'd pass on an idea that we've covered in The Inventory Standard a few times and one that has generated significant interest in our industry: providing emergency readiness planning services (aka business continuity planning) to small- and medium-size businesses.
Providing this service not only expands revenue opportunities for you, but it could also lead to more home inventories. Here's how: a typical oversight of emergency readiness planning activities is the preparedness of key employees. If a company's plan calls for key employees to take on critical recovery roles, it is in the company's best interests to ensure that their employees have family emergency plans, have created their "go box" and have completed their home inventory! So if there is a widespread disaster, their families are in a better position to weather the disaster and the key employee is more likely to be available to dedicate time to recovery activities for the company.
As requested by several folks, Bastion is putting together a webinar on the topic of emergency readiness planning for home inventory professionals. It's set for April 23, 2009. Details at http://www.bastionaffiliates.com.
