Quite a while ago, I wrote about the "Listing Problem." and it appears to have remained a problem. I have recently joined ServiceMagic, but when selecting a category, to be listed under. There doesn't appear to be the ideal category for me to select. They have categories such as Photography, but it doesn't include any one which adequately describes what we do. Also there are topics such as home inspection and appraisal, but again none addresses what we do best; that no other professional can do. Besides joining online, my next step is to contact the marketing contact, who recently emailed me about joining. At this point I don't know just what if anything can be done about this omission. But this is a different contact person with serviceMagic and hopefully we can come to some mutually satisfactory answer. My initial contact person, left the situation as a cannot do anything about the problem situation. Hopefully we can take care of this problem once for all. Part of their initial response had to do with the fact that last year the service was without any history between Inventory Specialist and the homeowners who contact the service, and afterwards leave a review of the pros service. Its as if our service doesn't exist, as far as ServiceMagic was concerned last year. Hopefully that's changed since then. I read a while ago, that a certain governmental agency was entertaining the idea of creating a seperate listing for our profession, and its clear we need that done soon as possible. I'll update with news as to how this goes.
