RE: Target Clients

I target High end homes. All the customers I have had so far come from that area.  I have the same issue too that people don't want to invest money to do this but you have to convince them that you can do it for them. One of my clients was a man who saw my postcard who can't walk very well. He wanted it done so he could be protected. Another client was a person who did not have time to do a inventory because her husband has alzheimers. These were my first two clients. I really have not had any others yet because I stopped this business for a few months because college got in the way. I am coming back to it right now and trying to get it back off the ground. My point his you have to convince them that they need this. In a few months I hope to have some customers by doing a seminor at my local library. I am going to do a raffile and give 5 people regardless of the size of their house a inventory of their home for 150.00. It just depends on what works in your area.

I currently operate a personal chef business, and everyone I meet says it's a great business concept.  But I'm finding the typical client right now is not willing to invest - so much so that I'm considering closing that business and starting something else.  That's why I'm researching the home inventory business.

A HIP stated to me recently that her business has her in mostly "high end" homes.  Is that the type of client from which most business is obtained?  It seems any homeowner would benefit from an inventory, but not all are willing to invest.  I would appreciate your comments.  If I am going to walk away from one service business that a lot of people consider a luxury (and for some it really is), I don't want to just walk into another.

Regards,

Jack
